Joseph Szeto, Jr., age 71, a lifelong resident of Lorain, died on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center.
He was born November 23, 1939 in Lorain to the late Joseph and Katherine (nee Brodac) Szeto, Sr.
He served his country in the US Navy for 4 years.
Joseph worked for the Lorain phone company, currently known as Century Link. Holding various positions through the years, he had worked mainly as a PBX installer. He retired from there with 42 years of service.
He was a member of Hungarian Reformed Church, Lorain.
For many years he enjoyed communicating on his CB radio. One of his favorite pastimes was watching TV game shows. He also met with his friends regularly for breakfast get-togethers. He enjoyed hearing stories about his granddaughters and their activities.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy (nee Galo); his daughter, JoAnn (Dave) Eischen, of Amherst; his twin granddaughters, Erika and Emily Eischen; his brother, John (Loan) Szeto, of South Carolina and his sisters, Elaine (Denny) Hoy, of Illinois and Karen (David) Albrecht, of Michigan.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 9th from 5-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Rev. Peter Toth, pastor of Hungarian Reformed Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Military honors will be conducted.
