Gayle J. Krok (nee Dittmer), age 68, of Lorain, passed away, Monday, June 27, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph.
Gayle was born on July 11, 1942 in Lorain, Ohio to the late Elden and LeLa (nee Pettit) Dittmer.
She was a 1960 graduate of Clearview High and went on to further her education, graduating from Ehove School of Practical Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as a skilled home nurse and for many years worked with children of special needs in their homes caring for them. She took great pride in her work.
Gayle was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermilion. She enjoyed antiquing, crocheting and sewing.
She is survived by hers daughters, Jenae Pavlich, of Amherst and Genel (Larry) New, of Amherst; grandchildren, Justin Krok, of Amherst, Blake Pavlich, of Amherst, Chelsea New, of Amherst and Morgan New, of Amherst; brothers, Gary Dittmer, of Florida, Ray Dittmer, of Florida; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Dittmer, of Lorain and Maxine Dittmer, of Lorain; former spouse, Leo Krok, of Amherst.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jim Dittmer, Wayne Dittmer, William Dittmer and Dale Dittmer; sister-in-law, Evelyn Dittmer.
The Krok family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Funeral Center, Pastor Terry Parker, of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
