Carmella Mazzaferro, age 89, of Lorain, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 3, 2011.
Carmella was born on January 13, 1922 in Lorain, Ohio to the late Paulo and Rosa Marie (nee Cala) Mazzaferro. In 1968, she moved to Santa Monica, California and returned to Lorain in 1994.
She worked as a Nurse’s Aide for St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain for 19 years and for St. John Hospital in Santa Monica, California for 19 years, retiring in 1987.
Carmella loved living in California and enjoyed walking and spending time at the ocean. She also enjoyed tending to her many plants.
She is survived by her daughters, Rose Kraly, of Lorain, Joan Prather, of Elyria and Judy Hribar, of Lorain; grandchildren, Lisa Case and Arthur J. Hribar; great-grandchildren, Samantha Case, Stephanie Case, Abigail Hribar and Madison Hribar.
Private funeral services will be held.
